Breadmaking Course

Bikes to Baguettes

Posted on 11th February

What will your partner be doing whilst you're away for hours on your bike? If you're not sure, then why not try a traditional breadmaking course? We've teamed up with nearby Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School to offer people who love real bread the chance to see how it's made and have a go at making their own a selection of freshly baked breads to take home.

The Use Your Loaf Half Day course will run from 10am to 2pm on Sunday 27th April and as part of the deal, the Yorkshire Wolds Cookery (which is just 3 miles from the Heart of the Wolds event HQ) is offering a 20% reduction on the advertised price of the four hour course, meaning that anyone who has a relation riding our event only pays £60 instead of the standard £75 fee.

Yorkshire Wolds Cookery School Business Development Manager, Alison Johnson says “Our Use Your Loaf is one of the most popular courses we run at the school.  Dispel the myth that breadmaking can be complicated and join us for this half day session.  You will take home an array of wonderfully smelling and tasting breads as well as the skills to make your own at home”.

Attendees can also expect to learn about the health and nutritional benefits of bread for the hungry cyclist.

"This will be a great experience for anyone who's waiting for a cyclist to finish. Plus they can bake away safe in the knowledge that there'll be someone hungry to try their creations afterwards!" commented Sportive organiser Philip Haskins.
